Awaking with Eyes Closed

Contributed by billyspfan on Tuesday, 24th September 2002 @ 01:00:00 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Darkness dawning downed the wires
Cinders charred in concealed fire
Windows waxed with scalpel skin
So unabashed, evading win
She gets so close, she hears the din
Smells the sin
Still wants in.

The soul is saved in optic loss
Squeeze the heart to drain the cross
Hideous house with facade blinding
To haunt it, climb the road unwinding
Still unsure of future finding
Fractured binding
Never-minding

In acne sand, she shallowly slides
To a jaundiced door, love locked inside
Uncovered keys from vacancy mist
But the lock itself is encrusted with cyst
Pounding with enamoradic fist
Embracing this
Misanthropist

Windows deformed, stream stifled light
Its beams rape the heart, cursing with sight
She turns and leaves with truth untying
Bars of beauty have no need prying
Eyes torn open to stop the crying
Heart left dying
Hopeless trying

Great poem, though I hope you won't be a sad poet. Nothing is ever hopeless, even when it seems so.
