Smash! to the floor as the little doll breaks
Glass eyes rolling,
Struggling not to be over
taken by meetings and concrete,
Oozing jargon from the well
beaten cracks
Stabbing heels, strangling ties,
Endless fattening snacks
Consume her with a
New Guilt. It's dirty and she
loves it. Poisonous and
exciting. Exorcism isn't necessary anymore, the monster is in control. Its power is intimidating but such a thrill
so she welcomes it to stay.
Her corkscrew curls are loosening, unfurling new ideas, revealing the Sinner's Life.
A tar-like substance emerges from the drain and
Cradles her pieces back together.
It is warm and sticky like a delicious black treacle and
She can taste her childish fears melting smoothly into it.
And now it's white-hot and incipient and she is fully healed, but it says there's no rush to surface and it
Welcomes her to stay.
They picnic on forbidden fruits, spilt milk and bitter-sweet symphonies.
Her mistress will not be pleased -
Before Porcelain's baptism, she was only offered bland cups of air at endless tea parties. Oh well. Her accidental conversion was enough to keep her awake for many years to come.
