I stand there, out here alone
The leaves falling, a breeze is calling
There above the waters, the doves have flown
As I gaze up the blue, hear the red tail bawling
Looking down below, the hard-shells do peek
Thru the water for some air, only to disappear
Below the muddies, as the day old goslings cry, looking meek
Loons and wood ducks, soon to appear
The muskrat family building up their home
Sitting so still, as part of the wooden décor
A white egret stands looking for fish that roam
The blue heron is there too, competing from the shore
Where I sit, the red ants do their share
Seemly they sure do go everywhere!
I am on an abandoned rail bridge here
Overlooking the muddy Susquehanna
This feeling is so serene, as I snack on a banana!
Alone, I am not
For all I see in God’s natural creatures
In this small urban-scape, what a treasured lot
Invisible, yes; for I’m a part of these features
So quiet I stand, listen and watch
That nature is so wondrous, up to the rainbow’s notch
How I found it here, owls, raptors, foxes
Fly, hunt, and prowl, I see this and more
This is now, not the past, the natural beauty from unpacked boxes
Of God’s ways of preserving wilds of before
My soul is of nature to keep, the spirit of Gods will, I love that much
Invisible, yes, if only we can keep it from the human touch

we have many raptors flying around our Little urban area. Eagles and Paragins. As well as Owls and hawks, all part of the raptor family, the birds of prey. I had seen an Eagle this past summer, fly above me early one morning, with a fish in his talons. something you would see on TV, but in reality this was spectacular...... awesome site. :) |
