When asleep in nightful calm
a thought may break my dreams
Appearing as if I'm alright
though nothing's what it seems
For beauty such as what I yearn
is long gone in this field
Where daisies take up all the space
and love's my only shield
My clouded wings fly me away
and lead me off to you
Your window's open, I can see
so I can squeeze right through
A stare, a gaze, a peaceful sight;
the Sandman holds your eyes
And if I said I loved you not,
beware: I'd tell you lies
As much as I would want a kiss
surroundings keep behind
You wouldn't even notice me;
it's all just in my mind
Shivering from being close
I watch you where you lay
And sit with you 'till morning mist
allures, I cannot stay
I hurry back, though clouded wings
have vanished in the night
my wings are now of other kind:
their feathers' loving might
I beseech, my precious one,
that one day I'll return
But without wings of any kind:
mortality is ours to learn
A worthy price to pay for this;
a thousand years of rain
If I could only, out of sleep,
sit by your side again

I’m not really into love or romantic poetry, but I just loved this. So very well written and full of emotion. Wonderful write. I very much enjoyed it.

Wonderful imagry, I loved this poem. It clings so tightly to my intrest i cant help but read it over and over again. It sends such vivid pictures to my mind.

The flow and the words fit seemlessly toghether, what an incredible write. Such depth as well. Now i am in awe of you.
