Burned out
Emotionally worn
My soul is now torn
Over things I think about
Dead to my feelings
I no longer feel
I’m disconnected from by being
Cause I gave it all
I lost it all
Step back
And watch my life fall
Caught in parlay
Between my heart and my mind
I hope this is an amusing display
Cause my mind knows better
And it tries to reason
But my heart won’t listen
It’s totally sold out
Cause love is what
It wants to boast about
So my mind pleaded
But rational thought
Isn’t what my heart needed
It decided to bet itself
On these high stakes
It gave itself up
And left me alone
It lost itself
In devastating heartbreak
My soul turned to stone
Without a heart
How do I find my place
My worst fear
I don’t know how to face
Love
I’ve fought to keep it
And I’ve looked to find it
I’ve sat back and lost it
I’ve tried so hard
To find
What all these people
Keep on talking about
I’m caught in a bind
I know what it’s like
But I can’t figure it out
Now I’m consumed with doubt
That love will ever know me
That love will ever hold me
That love will ever care for me
Like I cared for it
That love will ever treat me
Like I long to be treated
That love will ever need me
Cause it’s all I’ve ever needed
I’m fed up with this game
I’ll never be the same
I’m gonna throw in the towel
Step back…
And take a bow
Walk off the stage
I hope you had your fun
Cause this is the last page
Of my struggle
I’m sick of living my life
I lived to love
And felt the love begin
But now I live without
The love within
