The Goddess

Contributed by Arrundel on Monday, 5th April 2004 @ 07:20:51 PM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

The life of the moon, the life of the Earth
All from her, she all of us birth
With her tolerant heart there is no sin
She loves us all, we're all of her kin
No such thing as an eternity in hell
There is no evil, she wishes us well
Again and again we die and are born
Until we are perfect we'll bleed from a thorn
A thorn of experiance, a thorn of pain
You'd think it were bad, but it is not your bane
Respect her well, for she respects you
She'll change your life, she'll make it anew
If you give her your love, not your hate
She'll make sure you have a wonderful fate

Pagan religions, hhhmmm. Well apart from the sacrifices I tend to lean towards their teachings somewhat. They are more earthy as you have illustrated with the above poem. I am still trying to come to terms as to why we call this year 2004 when the earth has been around so much longer. I think that we are quite egotistical to think of our year as being 2004. Some might say that it is just a measure since the death of Christ so that we have some form of timeline. Fooy I say to them. Recorded history has been manipulated by the main stream religions for hundreds of years now, it is grossly inaccurate and lopsided to thier teachings. Oh, I could go on all day about this subject, but in short thanks for the poem. I enjoyed it, can't you tell ? :-)

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
