WANDERLUST

Contributed by badlander on Monday, 5th April 2004 @ 04:33:26 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

He likes to wear his "Aussie" hat
Low against the sun
That worn out rag he calls a coat
Somehow keeps him warm
One more truck-stop coffee
He'll be good to go
Exactly where he's going
He don't always know

(Chorus)
He has wanderlust
Moving through his soul
A gypsy on the highway
Miles and miles to go
He's occupied with destiny
Born to heed the call
Always bound for somewhere,
Yet, never bound at all

The sign he holds reads "DENVER"
Hope is in his eyes
I wonder who's more jealous
As I pass him by
Highway drifter ride your thumb
Your brother rides the rails
"Goin's" all that matters
The wind is in your sails

Chorus

(Bridge)

He can do the talking
But he's learned to listen well
Those old highway markers
Weave a lengthy tale
I never judge him harshly
He pays the price to roam
Fading in my mirror fast
He's never far from home
The highway is his home...,

Chorus

Always bound for somewhere
Yet, never bound at all

This is very good. Sounds like something Willie Nelson or Toby Keith might sing. The story weave is very nice.
