Irrational Highs, Crazy Downs.

Life has its ups and downs,
The ups create excitement, happiness, an overall glow to a person,
The downs drive you crazy, like you are bogged in a hole, that’s impossible to get out of.
My highs drive me crazy, with impulsive irrational ideas,
Impossible goals and hideous plans of success,
I thrive on my downs, to keep me safe from those insane thoughts that run so freely through my mind, at a hundred miles p/h,
I grasp the sides of this hole that traps me inside,
My body will not obey my order to pull my weight to the surface,
So that I may reach the air that I so desperately need to breath,
Before I am once again plunged back into deranged ideas of freedom,
Freedom from myself.

My mother was bi-polar. She led a life that is not so easily traveled. It was cancer that killed her but she never had it easy. I was her rock sometimes when she needed one. Just remember don't let this ilness define you. You are more then it by an infinity. |

I am bi-polar as well and can totally relate to what you write about. I like how u describe it so well that was very good. Truly a talented poem if u ever need advice and feel that your disorder is pulling u down feel free to PM me. Once again a good poem.
