Tonight I dream of simpler things
limericks, words, and images that bring
me to what it is I desire the most,
a lovely poem which I can post.
I pray to the Gods of my typing fingers
to give me some words that just might linger
in the thoughts of people's hearts and souls,
let it be cool, let it be bold.
Some words, some phrases, maybe a rhyme,
make it original, give it some time
to sink in and catch in someone's brain,
give them some joy, or relief from their pain.
In the end all that matters is if it's read,
if someone posts a comment and it has said
that I did a good job and they like how it ends,
and the phrase that they'd like to read it again
