If It Would Make Us Happy

Contributed by waos on Sunday, 4th April 2004 @ 06:45:08 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

If it would make us happy,
I'd turn down my pain for you.
If it would make us happy,
I'd do all the things you told me to.
But my pain is deafening me,
it's blocking my hope for peace.
My pain is blinding me,
and I can't see any release.
You say you're walking on eggshells,
afraid your words might set me to screaming.
You're afraid of my anger,
but it's nothing compared to my dreaming.
And I'd bury my pain
if it would make us happy.
And I'd try not to scream again
if it would make us happy.
I promise, I'd do more work,
if living wasn't so tiring.
And I promise, I'd make us happy,
if there wasn't something wrong with my wiring.
I don't even feel guilty anymore,
I forget what it's like to feel.
And I just get so lonely,
I just wish he could help me heal.
And I promise, if it would make us happy,
I'd do everything I could.
I promise, if it would make us happy,
I'd do more than everything I could.
Why can't we just be happy?
I'd do anything.

good poem hun. One thing I've learned is to never show my parents my poetry let alone tell them why I wrote it.

Great poem, lots of feeling. I have to go with Joel on the not telling your parents thing, from my experience they either don't understand or get mad because they think your doing it for attention.

Wow, this is awesome... it gave me chills. "Something wrong with my wiring"... what a great way to put it!
