¤ Forgive Me ¤

*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*

a simple question
a simple word answered,
broke your heart
and you turned away,
breaking my heart

years
of friendship,
shattered,
like fragile glass,
with only one word
"no"
which I broke two hearts
by saying

you
were always there;
when I needed you,
protecting me,
watching me,
and never resting
until I was safe

tears glide
down my face
everytime I'm
backstabbed

now Im frightened
by what I see,
by what you've sheltered me from
all these years

the pain,
the lies,
the betrayal

I wish
you were here
to shield me
and catch me
as I fall

I wish
you were here
to say its all over now

but instead
I'm hurled
into a life
I want no part of

theres too much
that time can't erase

I crave
your protection
I miss you
I'm sorry

please forgive me

"theres too much

Hehehe that sounds familiar... a little Evanescence, anyone? ;)

I enjoyed the poem. Normally I'd say it could've been organized better, but in this case, I think it adds to the emotional turmoil within the words. Great write!

sometimes even forgiveness cant erase the guilt kept.
