Perfect

Contributed by Mary on Monday, 23rd September 2002 @ 07:05:49 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

You think everything is perfect,
and outside, thats how it seems
So you begin to take for granted
what perfect truly means

"Perfect" was holding his hand,
knowing it was always there

"Perfect" was coming home,
seeing him at the stairs

"Perfect" was found within his arms,
being held thoughout the night

"Perfect" was the days first kiss,
bathed in mornings light

These simple things were perfect,
they made my life complete
But when happiness becomes a struggle,
perfection can't compete

"Perfect" would be us together,
as we were before
our laundry in one big pile,
his shoes still at the door...

"Perfect" is not wondering
why I'm here alone...
why I couldn't make him happy...
why he couldn't make this home...

"Perfect" is not doubting
the love we had, so true...
hoping that he misses me...
wishing that I knew...

"Perfect" is not watching
all the plans that we both made
for a life so filled with happiness
suddenly and quickly fade

Time and space is all you have,
miles keep you apart
but "Perfect" dreams will never die,
they just hide within your heart.

If you love someone, let them go....those words are so much easier to say than to actually believe!! Believe in yourself, and in him...keep him in your heart, and have the faith in you, and in him, and in the 2 of you together...True love doesn't disappear...and while it hurts like hell sometimes...you need the bad to appreciate the god! I love you...and I'm here if you need me!! ;) Think a diner night is definitely in the near future!! Call me....and please...>SMILE! XoXo

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
