I Must Move On (the second part of my journey)

I Must Move On

Look at this castle
This is my life
Look at the cracks
To fix’em
Oh what a hassle
Each one a mistake
Each one a chance
I willingly take
Look at the towers
Formidable no longer
Look at the gate
It’s been a whole lot stronger
Look at the walls
As they start to crumble
Look at the inner courts
I’ve never been so humbled
Look at the palace
Every dark corner
Filled with malice
For the storms I’ve weathered
Look at the hill
On which my life sits
It is my hope
Once secure…
It now erodes away
I’m starting to lose sight
Of a brighter day
Look at the moat
It is my survival
It’s almost dried up
Beyond revival
I must start over
And begin anew
But Beautiful
I keep thinking of you
You where my foundation
So I take a can of gas
And pour it over this castle
I take a book of matches
And light’em
And watch them burn
My life away…
All to forget
Everything about you
This horrendous term
I watch it burn away
All that I made
When it is through
I will start over
With these leftover
Black glorious ashes
But I will be without you
But wait…
These bars remain
Iron bars on which
I built my life
They didn’t burn
Ashes and bars
Form my prison
That I live in
No matter what I build
From here on out
There will always be
This terror within
A constant reminder
That I don’t have you
And I don’t know
Where to begin
Or how to move on
Another step in my journey
Where do I go next
A new day
A new dawn
I must move on

This part is just as good as the first part. I enjoyed reading both pieces. Keep it up. *S* Cynthia
