I looked into your eyes
I felt like rolling dice
Taking a gamble with my life
It could be happiness, it could be strife
What the hell, I have nothing to lose
Some would do the same in these shoes
Maybe it works out in the long run
It could be a lot of fun
Rejection on the other hand,
Leaves but a speed bump in the sand
To be pushed aside
To try and take another ride
Push comes to shove
Maybe this isn’t love
There are other women in the sea
But wait! This cant be
The other women disappear
What am I feeling… fear?
I only see you
I feel like I have the flu
Maybe it’s meant to be
Maybe it’s been decreed
By a higher power
Damn I need a shower
I’ve got to impress
And I should probably suppress
My plans for tomorrow
This could lead to sorrow
For a relationship rushed
Is for the heart that wants to be crushed

Ah, the ambiguity of the first date -- boldness and shyness in equal measure --- is it love is it lust is it something else?
your peom catches this nicely |

The first date....goosebumps..sweat...fast beating heart...slurred speech...uneasiness...Been there, done that!! But I would do it all again if I could. That rush of adrenaline that comes along with found love cannot be compared to anything else. |
