Topic: Suicide

When I close my eyes
And I watch the streaks of light
pierce through my eyelids
and the pictures of the past
that haunt everything that is real
begin to project themselves on my retina
I have the sudden urge
a violent carnal urge, for blood
my own blood...
Each drop is one drop closer to my eternal rest
But each drop is not enough
So I cut deeper-
The drops come out in waterfalls
Running into my palms
down my fingertips
and land in little crimson puddles on the floor.

What a beautiful thing this is
Watching your face turn pale and
your lips go blue
As you allow your body
To empty itself of all that is evil.
Quicker then ever your heart beats
Pulsing long streaks of blood out the tiny slit across your wrist.
Looking closer at your own arm
You notice all the past scars
The times you chickened out-
But this time you are for real,
No time to play around
You are beginning to get dizzy and weak
You can feel your knees start to buckle
as you try to balance yourself long enough
so you can move from the mirror to the tub
And lay yourself out in just the perfect position
And wait for the darkness to take over.

Slinking down slowly into the cold water
AS you lay shivering in this puddle of death
You have just enough strength to peer at the water and watch as it fills with red-
And again you realize how much you really are scared of death.

Jumping at the chance to help yourself
Before it gets any worse
You stumble out of the water and to the phone
The voice on the other end tell you to keep talking
and then the darkness fills your eyes,
A warm heat flushes your body
and you feel everything in you give out
as you crumble to the floor...

So sad.
written really well but it breacks my heart!!!!
2 me there is nuthing beautifull about it except the fact that they got help.
Nuthing u have done in life is so bad that a luving God could do nuthing but weep for you or her?
I know it's pure hell but u've survived this far. You will never get over it but u can make peace with your own heart.
Life is hard but it's easier to die than to live. It takes luving yourself and realizing that u didn't choose your past.
Hang tuff, friend. We need u 2 help others get thru these kinds of nite.
I really enjoyed your comment on my poem U DIDN'T CHOOSE. U really made me feel needed.
luv, huggs, hope,
emy

this was amazing hun I have been there before and its not a fun place to be, but I am glad u chose to right this out, instead of actually following through.
'As you lay shivering in this puddle of death'
I loved that line really struck me for some wierd reason.

This poem perfectly relates to how I feel ... and yet isn't it strange how that annoying voice of self worth nags at our brains and reminds us we are here for something ... even if we don't know what that really is! A great write Lindsey, yet I hope you are finding strength from this writing, and your friends ... Jan

That's how I want to die. Nothing short of beautiful, I love this. I can see it all so well, as if I were living it out...

Truly,

your not alone, we do think at night, but remember one thing too..........in the night there are those just like you, who now have a place to be and to share. Thank you for sharing.

This was so incredible, so real, so scary and so relevant to any with 'expierience' in this topic... Your honesty and realism in this poem creates a frightening experience for anyone who chooses to read it. Absoloutley fan-tas-tic!
