selfstruggles

Look around and what do you see?
Do you see what I see?
You look around and you see normal things.
Like flowers, trees, and people.
Do you know what I see?
Water.
When I close my eyes at night,
I see the dark abyss of the bottom of the ocean.
When I open my eyes,
I see walls of water.
I can vaguely see shapes through the water,
Shapes of beings that I want to know.
I try to swim to the shapes,
But nothing I do brings me closer.
I try so hard to get to the surface,
Try to breach for breath.
But the water sucks me deeper.
Tries to drown me.
The water fills my mouth
Making no communication possible.
The water fills my throat and lungs
Ruining any chance of breath left.
It fills my body, my head
Cutting of all thoughts and feelings.
It leaves me numb.
Most people can feel the normal feelings
Joy, pain, anger
But I don’t feel anything.
Not any feeling at all.
Waving my arms wildly around
I try to fight the water.
Even though it surrounds me,
More still smothers me.
It’s slowly killing me,
The water;
Drowning me.

This poem frightened me. That's good though, it means it spoke to me. You see, I've got an extreme fear of drowning, swimming, etc. and this poem was just... good.
Bravo
