the everyday hymn

The final spike has been driven
through this empty heart in me
And left in the open
for all to see
And seen by choice,
but the heart was not broken
But torn
and reborn
at the sound of your voice
And the rebirth of this heart
is like a gift,
a second chance
Soon to once again be perfect,
and yet the sound of your voice,
this heart is taken
torn and reborn
and whom has caused this pain?
You
Have caused it,
Swept
Ruined
Killed it,
Left in the open for all to see,
and yet none see it
And once again you rejoice!
Torn and reborn at the sound of your voice,
Gone

No, I can't say I've felt like this before but it was very expressive and emotional. I hope you've gotten over this. Take care. |

I know where you're coming from. I've been 'torn and reborn' myself. Good job. |

Very much so. Definitely not 'trite', in any sense.
I found this personally resonative and in rapturous degrees of intensity.
Powerful and evocative.
Thanks for sharing it.. |
