Darling....Forget Me Not

My love told me of a flower, so demure and sweet,
as he bent and picked the blossom, I'll forever keep.
The purest blue and tiny, the fairest of the lot,
this little blossom, he called...Forget-Me-Not."
As I searched the face of the flower and my love,
I knew that I had seen beauty, sent from up above.
Both the flower and the love, would never be forgot,
or the words he whispered...."darling, Forget-me-not."
A book will press the petals, a poem my words will share,
of a lovely tender flower, he had tucked into my hair.
And, when I'm old and in my chair...as I gently rock,
I'll still hear the words, "darling, Forget-me-not."
