Born to be down
A life we'd love to have
Sent to the depths of sadness
Sent to the past
Glad to forget all of it
As time goes by
We held the pain inside ourselves
As we waited to cry
Get out of your way
Get away from deceit, escape the last lie
As cold as the chills
As it's dark in your room
Company kept with a lonely mind
Company kept with the moon
If it makes us less sad
Burn the pictures of yesterday
Broken smiles and shattered promises
I'll move out of your way
Stretched over the days
Sleeping in our clothes
Sins no one's heard of
A hatred that no one knows
Call me a safe bet
I'm threading the eye
Time goes past
And in this sadness my heart will lie
The sound of the rain against my window
Meets the sound of regret
Past is unwoven
A past we wish to forget
Permit you to pass
A gate never opens for me
If it makes us less sad
Growing older with less to be
You, the majesty of disaster
A crown of gold
Your smile freezes me
A face I will remember as time grows cold
