Little Things…

Contributed by Rose on Sunday, 22nd September 2002 @ 08:40:00 PM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

What is it about the little things?
It’s so easy to miss them, as many of us do
Really so easy to see how much happiness it brings
Those little notes tucked inside your lunchbox
To say how much they care and love you
To know your kids actually did pick up their socks!
Or just watching your little ones sleep
Or a look across the room at your mate, an endearment to keep
When you’re tired, come home from work
Your honey actually cleaned, put his hands where those germs did lurk!
Or you’re out for a walk with your twin five year old nephews
Taking in the likes of nature, her beauty embraces us of her vibrant hues
When your are busy at work, really having a bad day
Somehow an extra hand appeared, who it was, they wouldn’t say
Or when you are hungry, forgot your lunch or it wasn’t much
Somehow a meal appeared for you they say, you were touched
Or perhaps the line was long behind you, but you needing exact change
Only one-cent short, you don’t have it, somewhere, a long comes a penny into range
Or just holding hands with that special someone
Don’t need a lot of money or even not a one
Who said little things don’t matter
They sure do, it would be like having a cookie without the sweet batter!!
