When the time comes

Contributed by makx10 on Sunday, 22nd September 2002 @ 08:10:00 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

There comes a time when you must let go.
Let go to all the fear that you know.
Release all the hate that you have inside.
Finally realize there is no place to hide.

There comes a time to open your eyes
And to stop hiding behind the weak disguise.
Look around to see all the love you feel.
Get rid of all the sorrow that has been so real.

There comes a time when you've had enough!
Put an end to all the times that have been rough.
The reasons for the turmoil I will never know.
How hard my feelings are to show.

There comes a time to shut the door on the past.
To say that one tear will be the very last.
The final cry, the final plea.
The final time to have pity on me.

To shut the door is easier said than done.
That is one hell of a battle to be won.
For now I will keep living each day.
Each day I will keep kneeling to pray.

Pray for myself to forgive,
So that I can finally start to live.
Live the happy life I know I can.
Live that life with a wonderful man.

There comes a time when you must let go.
Let go to the feelings you may know.
The years of building up that wall.
The wall that you'd hoped would never fall.

There comes a time when you must say,
For once I will make things go my way.
Take down each brick a step at a time.
One day I swear contentness will finally be mine!

With your attitude it shall be yours. Keep your head held high and take things as they come. Great write. It's an inspirational piece.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
