Behind the chair, in a corner out of view,
stands the letter you sent, telling me we're through.
You couldn't tell me face to face or even on the phone,
you said it in a letter, for me to find it on my own.
Tears started to fill my eyes, and the words became a blur,
for surely there was no doubt, of what this letter was for.
Your words were plain, while holding nothing back,
and the chance for reconciliation, was something it lacked.
I wish I could have seen this coming around the bend,
but I guess it's too late, to suggest we start again.
So I'll have to live, with these questions in my mind,
for what I could have done differently, for you to still be mine.

I'm sorry if this is a true story for you. Love can hurt but it can also be wonderful. It was very well written. |
