From the beginning the to end

Contributed by Jere on Wednesday, 31st March 2004 @ 10:58:09 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Every step I take
Is one less
From the beginning
To the end

Any breath I take
Could be my last
As another's first
And several other's past

We seek life through
One heart beat at a time
As time goes by
Our life goes by

One way or another
The day will come
When our heart stops
But our soul stays forever

I like stuff about time passing with or without us. "But our soul stays forever" was a real good end line.

Nice poem, I hope you did well on your project. I agree with the last comment, the last line was great. Welcome to YPDC.

It seems like a rather simple poem, but it is
not. I liked how this poem ends the ending is
so deep. Personally, I thought the second
stanza was a bit awkward, but other than that
a good poem. I hope to see more by you.

Hm... Well I like the philosophies about life, which, I assume, are your own takes on the subject of life? Not negative, nor positive, just plain truth. Very gray area, which I like. You can never know which is really which.
