Near Erotic Fascination with the Ways of Death

Contributed by bobotheclown on Wednesday, 31st March 2004 @ 09:01:36 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

My wrists are a torn reminder of what was
As my mouth forms bloodied syllables
And an acre of harvested regret
Amidst these many miles I've crawled
Only to wind up... nowhere
Digging my grave with one scarred hand
While mournfully sucking my other wrist
To frame the epitomy of sorrow and wretchedness

I peer out this window
Caked with years of regret
Trying to cry upon this pallet of misery,
But nothing escapes from these blackened lips
Except a choked sob of dashed dreams
As I weep upon these bloodied rocks
And then raise my hands in beaten victory
Yearning for the prospect of a molecule of hope

I kiss this beaten body
As my hands flail to produce nothing
My battered visage crowned with many wounds
Sinks to the floor in shattered dismay
Apart from myself I discern this last action
To raise this poison filled draught
To my yearning, quivering lips
And place this black rose upon my chest
As I drown in this ocean called Solitude

This poem is my favorite so far. You have such a way with words that you leave me speechless. you took all the words from me left utter amazement. Your poetry is the kind I always look for, sad but beautiful. The whole poem is dipped in gold and I treasured every second reading it. Truly I did. I hope you dont mind if I book mark it.

Kisses,
~Soulless~
