XENIA

Topic: FamilyPoems

(PRONOUNCED ZENA)

XENIA OH XENIA, MY LOVELY LITTLE GIRL
YOU BRING BRIGHTNESS, INTO MY DULL WORLD
YOU KNOW HOW TO DESTROY, MY DARKEST OF MOODS
WITH JUST A FEW WORDS, THAT COME FROM WITHIN YOU
EACH TIME THAT YOU, FINISH TALKING TO ME
YOU SAY “I LOVE YOU MY DAD” AND SO YOU SEE
HOW CAN MY MOODS, POSSIBLY STAY SO DEEP
WHEN MY FOUR-YEAR-OLD GIRL, IS JUST EVER SO SWEET

TO YOU IT NO MATTER, IF I HAVE TO GROWL
WHEN YOU HAVE BEEN, A NAUGHTY LITTLE GIRL
YOU STILL COME OUT, WITH YOUR IMMORTAL WORDS
“I LOVE YOU MY DAD”, A THOUSAND TIMES I HAVE HEARD
YOU HAVE NO IDEA AS TO, HOW IT BRIGHTENS MY DAYS
TO HEAR YOU SAY “I LOVE YOU”, IN SO MANY MORE WAYS
I HOPE AS YOU GROW UP, YOU NEVER HAVE ANY FEAR
OF TELLING YOUR FEELINGS, TO THOSE THAT ARE DEAR
