I’M SORRY
I’m sorry that I expect too much,
Out of this world, out of people, out of you,
Idealistic and a die-heart soul I am,
Have thought nothing but the best from you.
You struggle to escape from me,
You say that I try to cling onto you,
You blame all the fault upon me,
You say that I am the one who cause it all.
I do not know how I erred,
I do not see where my mistake lay,
I cannot understand your contempt,
Especially your actions and your words.
You call me a friend and say you are glad,
That I have been there for you,
Give you a helping hand when you fall,
Guiding you as you learn to crawl.
But why do your shun my sight?
Don’t you know how it hurts inside?
I know we don’t share a lot,
But can’t you see, that I really care.
I don’t want your sympathy,
I don’t ask for your every minute,
All I ever want from you,
Is to learn to treat me right.
I’m not your dog,
Can’t stretch my ears as you want it to be,
Can’t shake my tail because you want me to,
But really, I’m a man’s best friend.
For I’ll stay even in the stormiest night,
Without shelter, I’ll accompany you still,
If rain may fall and lightning strikes,
Don’t worry, I’m always by your side.
I’m sorry that I am naïve,
To think what friends are for,
Isn’t it to brave through weather and storms,
Go through the darkness where danger roams?
I’m sorry that I have a heart,
Which feels every moment, every second,
Of this pain that you carelessly give,
Of this friendship, you stolen like a thief.
