My Wise, Thoughtful Angel

Contributed by Rose on Saturday, 21st September 2002 @ 07:56:38 PM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

To my wise friend
The one who knows all my troubles
Because she’s been there, to start and end
The one who gives me good advice, the result in doubles
I should be more aware of what you do
Because of not really knowing, how it is you see
The parts of me that I do not, but you do ensue
That fact, so I must move ahead, to make it better for me
You do listen intently, going about your work
As I ramble on about something, doing mine as well
Of course hearing my whining, surely isn’t a perk!
But you sure do get me thinking, so my head don’t swell!
I don’t have enough Thank you’s to say to you
Of all you have done for me, caring, praying, so calmly
I know you put a lot on the line for me, a lot you sure do
You’re there, sharing your time, love, so patiently
You’re an important part of my life’s stepping-stones
A wonderful elegant lady, I am glad to have as my friend
Surely you know, that a lot from you, I have grown
You put faith, happiness and thought to thy mind to bend
So those days I’m feeling low, you remind me to be open
And let God take care, and let my heart be free
So the day will lighten my feelings, and my mind to coping
The pressures of work, enjoying those fruits of thy labor tree
You’re one of my angels to see my troubles thru
Yet, you have your own to get done, so much for you to hold
Your soul is so dear; I can only say God carried me to you
So I may learn, grow, and mature, from my wise friend, a heart of gold
I like your style of being you, for you do what you feel
Not what others do. You follow your path, one of many
Keeping yourself in tune, thru the bad and good times, an even keel
You’re always there to help, giving those thoughts more then just a penny!
I guess I like you to know, you mean a lot to me
For I don’t feel I am thankful enough
Of what you really do, the little things you see
And many other events and jobs, all of that stuff!
You put your time into for me, Thank you for being you
Whose friendship; is always shining thru.

Hi Amber,
I wish I had someone like this in my life!
Did you give this to Jackie, I'm sure it would make her very happy to read your innermost thoughts and thankyous for her?
And I agree it's nice to have all ones writings in one place.
Well done for being able to put your most heartfelt thoughts into words, good write.

With love
Dean;-)

Hello again Amber. I remember this well and I enjoyed reading it as much now as I did when I read it on the old site...a beautiful tribute to a friend.

Yes,I did give this to her. I didn't even wait for her to read it online here!! I will miss her, when she retires. I will keep contact, but not like when I see her at work. She is going to travel with her hubby when she retires,a nd gets all done with work at home. She is my al-ly so to speak in my defense at work. She also cleans on the side as doing her Archive work for the Government. So she knows where I am coming from when I'm performing my job duties and get questioned often by one of the co-workers in her dept. who is very spot, spic and span clean. Personally, I like a lived in place, a place to be comfortable and clean, but also just relax. I like this at work, but very hard to find these days!!
Always, Amber Rose :)
