Alas !

I finally asked you for what my heart did desire
For in me even the thought of you lit a scorching fire
I asked you for that one thing
That I wished the angels would bring
A kiss from you
A single solitary kiss
For I love everything you do
And it is your presence that I sorely miss
And what did you do?
You refused
"That is reserved for your boyfriend" you say, and rightly so
But NEWSFLASH for you I don't have one, and ever since you did go
My feelings have grown
Into something that before this I have never known
No man has EVER loved me, and maybe I will never have love in my lifetime
I know you do not want to be mine
But can you not let me have that one wish
For it is you that my heart does miss

Sounds like he doesn't deserve you anyway...
There are lotsa men out there...so instead of wallowing on this one, go out and meet a better one! Great, sad poem.
