The Change

Contributed by Sweet-Poison on Tuesday, 30th March 2004 @ 01:48:21 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Here comes the change,
Unavoidable and dominant,
Monstrous in it's ability,
Swift and foreseen,
Here comes my change.

Years of denial,
Amount to this downfall.

This was to be expected,
But why so soon?

Photographic imagery,
Of that time lost.

I’m grasping at nothing now,
It is pointless trying to hide,
My change has me cornered.

The consumption has begun,
My dreams have already stopped,
Along with my ability to imagine.

Soon I will bid farewell to my heart,
Stolen by recognition of hate.

Memorabilia from my past,
Preserved as artefacts,
Precious and few.

Here comes my change,
Maturity in it’s whole,
Growing up and regret,
Well,
There goes my youth.

Very well conceived
-------------------------------
It's hard to receive maturity
As most folks know assuredly,
Bear with it a year or two,
If you don't like it..what can you do?

What a wonderful idea you had to write a poem symbolising the change to maturity! I didn't do that! Very well written and good luck in your new phase ;)

Hmm, both the youth and being mature has it's advantage and bad points, it is all up to us to find out how to get the full out of it while we can, in fact, grow up is not that much of a bad thing, and you know, you not going to lost your innocent and dream and imagination because of that, in fact, it will only gets better throughout the time, hehe, ever heard of 'young at heart'? I think that is what it means....^_^
