Darkness Comes

Contributed by Cobalt on Tuesday, 30th March 2004 @ 02:08:59 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

Screams pierce the night
as another mother dies.
Tortured life that won't end.
Sacred hopes and dreams
lay shattered by his hands.
Her blood seeping openly
by fresh angry wounds.
His fists continue to slam
into her already lifeless body.
She sheds no more tears
and can't beg him to stop.
But little girl sees it still.
Sobbing silently in a closet.
He finally stops, standing
over her lifeless body.
She can see his terrible face.
Always listened to mummy though
and she never made a sound.
Sat there cold, tears streaming
knowing everything is wrong.
She can still hear him screaming.

The Darkness Flame

I don't really know what to say about this, it is beautifully written. Dark and vivid and sad. Very disturbing. I love it.

What a tragic poem! Really sad and you feel even sadder when you realise these things happen almost everyday! Wonderfully written!
