A lone figure on a canoe
Paddling down the stream
Toward the sun as it sets.
A breathing, living flower,
Delicately beautiful.
A small child learning to walk
And to stand tall
In diversity.
A happy smile
And love’s embrace.
How could anything we created
Compete with this?
All the plastic and paint
In the world
Will not outshine
The innocent smile of a child
When you give him ice cream.
