Hasty Love

LoveRemembered

In hasty love
I found a war
That raged on the smooth
Terrain of a young woman’s countenance.
I fell in the abyss of her
Pretty eyes, of which gaze turned
My blood to ice,
But the warmth of her
Fiery breath
My heart melted and
My skin set ablaze.
But it wasn’t meant to be,
For hasty love brings hasty parting.
In the end all I could see
Was the world, looking at me and laughing.
