Gone Grey

Contributed by jaysoncarter on Sunday, 14th July 2002 @ 03:23:08 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

VERSE ONE:
==========
Victimization with a gravitational pull
Emptiness and nothingness within my soul
It never ceases to amaze me
How everything can fade away in time
It seems like a promise these days means less and less
And everyone’s all but lost their common sense
The truth is a lie and a lie is worse yet
Who can I trust when nobody is left

VERSE TWO:
==========
Somebody tell me what’s going on
This spoonfed negativity’s got me feeling like I’m wrong
I’m the scapegoat – the textbook example
The dictionary definition of what the typical can’t handle
But still I find myself in other’s shoes
Fighting a battle that I can’t help but lose
Every end to the means is a dead one
And every prospect of security is gone

CHORUS:
=======
The truth is a lie and a lie is worse yet
So who can I trust when nobody is left
The scars on my back remind me every day
Every predator disguised as a friend leaves a price to pay

BRIDGE:
=======
Where do I go – my eyes are blind
Hiding me from the pain – gone grey from the lies
And I can’t stand it – I can’t hold my head up
There’s a transparent mass on my mind – and it weighs too much

CHORUS:
=======
The truth is a lie and a lie is worse yet
So who can I trust when nobody is left
The scars on my back remind me every day
Every predator disguised as a friend leaves a price to pay
