Every day a shadow
when you lead a lonely life.
Your eyes conform to dimness
with a bitterness to light.
Your mind is constantly toyed with
by those who do no wrong
until you allow yourself to slip
and you show they've hurt too long.
You do not stifle your refute
and show your disregard.
Encourage instead their steady rebuke
Their words have hit you hard.
From that constant merry-go-round
you wish you could be free.
Your only solace can be found
in silent, fuming, solarity.
Every day a shadow
until you find true light.
A flicker of a flame will glow
through that dark and lonely life.
Light is trying to find its way
through your thick and tall brick wall.
Help your friends show you day
by allowing it to fall.
Friends are standing by, it shows
wanting you to see...
Every day a shadow
until you set yourself free.
