Darkness. There is an endless darkness in every heart.
It's there even when first born, and it grows. Some are able to hide it better than others, some embrace it willingly, and some fear it. They fear the thoughts that drift into their heads. They fear what these thoughts might drive them to do.
We are weak, a species ruled by our own fear. It controls us, tells us when to stop and go. We succumb to it. We embrace the fear as if it was the light that could kill the darkness.
There is an endless darkness in every heart.
The world is tainted. All innocence once found is gone. There was once a time when the smiles of children meant something. A time when their laughter brought us joy. The darkness has taken our hearts. No fear can control it. It consumes us all.
I...I embrace this darkness...and pray it takes me...
