I watched him go to battle, promise in my mind
A promise that he'd never break, enen at the end of time
He raised his sword up to the sky, and yelled a battle cry
Seeming not at all to care, so soon that he may die
I watched the bloody battle, grim look upon my face
I already knew the outcome, I had sensed hid fate
I held the blood-stained crest, and knew his promise kept
Though in that life his body lay, in the ground so deep a rest
I have waited lifetimes, and I will wait still
Until my love returns to me, his promise to fulfill
I know he has not forgotten..........just remember does he not
Of a single promise, I have not forgot
