Twice reborn and trice to death
A thousand times our feeble death
To heal the hurt and seal the wounds
To recall the fallen from their tomb.
Twice the bearer, once the borne
A tear to shed and love to mourn
A thousand swords the battle takes
Until the time the sword doth break.
Arising from the battle heat
He shall lead forward all our feet
Beneath his banner in the sky
Many men shall fight and die
And with the sinking of the sun
The swords are stilled, the battle won
His power spent, he lies alone
The lighted come to guide him home.

Solid, flowing rhyme.
Is this themed on a particular person of lore? I didn't quite catch who it was, but this was an atmospheric piece nontheless.
Welcome! |
