a fine young man

Contributed by jaeann on Sunday, 28th March 2004 @ 06:36:42 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

a fine young man he was, yes....he was
popped into this world in a rush
stayed by her for his just because
and learned the right times to hush

adapted his life to two crazy kids
lost in their world of pain
brought smiles to her often when he hid
and kept them all this side of sane

given the gift of walking
to him as she quietly passed on
she never heard of him talking
no memories for him to carry along

now so many troubled miles
between us have grown so tall
missing all your hidden smiles
and always dreading the coming fall

losing out on all these years
is a pain that ceases to desist
knowing you are my hidden tears
make the fears insist

hearing your voice can ease the hurt
and was enough to last awhile
so grown up and no longer curt
you brought back a mama's smile

you'll be fine with the wisdom i gave you
and she's guiding you all the way
the talisman will encase you too
with energy from her brief stay

a fine young man he was, yes.....he is
raised him with a woman's heart
confident and solid the world is his
for he needed to have a brand new start

Oh Jaymee, This poem is so special.....from one Mother to another.....I can feel your grief, and I do know how hard it is to let go. But look at this way......was he ever really yours?
They are just on lease.......to borrow........
Bless your heart for writing such a loving, caring poem from the depths of your heart!
You'll see.......you two will never part......he'll be back one day.....just for a peek see?
Loveyou
consue
