Never Ready

Contributed by loserxnextdoor on Saturday, 27th March 2004 @ 10:51:41 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

She once was smooth, everflowing
like a waterfall, emotions cascading
one split second view could brighten your day
or perhaps whatever time it was, night maybe
too
just like the sun decided to shine a smidge bit more
a cherry smile, loving hug
she wasn't ready for the change

family was distant, hard
and those once blue cloudy hues
would float just a little too far
and fade away
everlonging glances towards stars and other lives she
wished
she lived
to her teddy she would confess
the words that she kept hidden from
the world
her family wasn't ready

her calousted hands would be
the only thing to hold her anymore
that silent voice couldn't carry an inch
versus it's old booming waterfall
trapped inside her body holding cell
Diary left unopened, collecting dust by the day
her escape--Not her friends but rather
her writing
her drawing
her art
When will she heal? When will it be?
A day a month? We'll ache to see
But no matter how much one could prepare
I'll be sure to tell you
she would still never be
ready

This was a very heart felt poem. I liked it a lot. I just have a question: Is this poem speaking about moving to another place and going on in life without the friends that she grew up with?

Its beautifully written, theres so much thought and feeling wrapped around your words. I feel that I have the same feelings as the girl in your poem. Keep up the inspiring work!

It was written about a chipper like girl whose life took some wrong turns and she changed. Her personality changed. It's just saying she was never ready for the change in her life. And how she changed she would never be ready for it.
