Only Memories Left

Contributed by sunshinegirl on Friday, 20th September 2002 @ 06:06:11 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I sat and watched you next to me
And thought about how close we’ve become
All the memories we’ve shared
All the memories I thought would come

You grew to become a part of me
You hold a place within my heart
We always were together
Hoping to never be apart

I know we had our hard times
And that I always made mistakes
But you were still standing beside me
Sticking through every problem I’d create

You know I truly didn’t mean it
All the mean things I seemed to do
I didn’t know why you stayed with me
Because it just ended up hurting you

Our friendship had grown so much
More than anyone ever knew
Problems come and problems go
But I always thought it would still be me and you

Now you’re gone
There’s not much left for me to do
But sit here and hope
That you think of me too

I wish you could forgive me
And realized I messed up again
I now realized that I hurt you too many times
And because of that I lost you…. my best friend.

I stayed with you because I love you and I'm still with you even now that I'm gone and I'll be with you always. And I forgave you a long time ago.

I love you
Curtis

You haven't lost him girl!!! I've read all of your poems on here... starting with the newest and working my way down... and it seems to me that you know that you love each other, but something is still holding you back from picking up the phone. Just look inside yourself, identify it, and everything will be fine. I have a feeling that he'd like to be with you too. You're a very talented writer... and you'll get through this!
