Groundhog Complaints

Contributed by Cynthia on Saturday, 27th March 2004 @ 12:05:39 AM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

"How would you like to be
pulled out of your bed,
held up by the
scruff of your neck,
being poked and proded,
noticing there's hair,
missing in unmentionable places
and freezing your off,
so people can find out
if they are still going to
freeze their off
for a few more months?"

"How would you
like it, huh?
How would you
like it?
Tell me, come on.
It doesn't sound
very pleasant does it?"

"You put me down this instant
and let me go
back into my hole
and go back to bed!"

Poor Mr. Groundhog,
putting up with the
same old
every year.

You know?

He has a point.

Cynthia,
I loved this poem. I love all critters and this just shows that if man was in the Groundhogs place, and he was doing that to man, perhaps they would understand. But they don't. People that have no empathy for he living creatures smaller......so unloving. I loved you reasoning behind this.....well written poem.....with a great poem and rhyme.
Written very fine,
and well done!
love
consue

I loved this one Cynthia and I am smiling the biggest smile! You must do one entitled; "When a groundhog gets a waxing" (LOL)

Poor little thing, isn't even prepared to meet company and without fail ( in my experience ) thats when they all show up!

Very cute poem and I really, really, enjoyed this one... Kie

lmao...well i can tell you the truth about ground hogs day......the real holliday is called imblogc aka candle mas, the festival of light. it was a wiccan tradition and when christians(the main society then) thought that wiccans were devil worshipers, they created an alternate holliday so they could still have a celebration or whatever.....should look it up, the history is really interesting
