Irreplaceable distinction in a well lit room
Underlining conversation and broadcast bad news
Connection from the bottle to your mouth
Stirred reaction and contemplated views.
Sadistic and psychological intuition
Virtue and Colors combined elixir
Faithful gratitude and comic relief
Reach for the pitcher and get another fixer.
Hybrid theory gone to nil
Cationic self-preservation urged will
Platonic liberation and zealous sight breathless
Underestimated and bloodless.

Alcohol is a hard taskmaster. One of my relationships was destroyed because of it. We did get him help. It was too late for us to mend the relationship but it was the start of a new life for him. He has been clean for 13 years now. Stay strong.

I Was Raised In A Family That Used
And Abused Alcohol...My Dad Was The Biggest Alcoholic Ever
It Caused Him And My Mom To Get
A Divorce When I Was Like 12Years Old.
But Now He Has Turned It All Over
In The Hands Of Our Savior Jesus Christ.
He Goes To Church Everytime The Doors
Are Open. This Brung Back Several Memories.
Great Write...

Man, the sheer volume of this piece blew me away. I know about this demon, i've seen some people very close to me have to conquer it.
Very good poem, one I both enjoyed and could identify with.
Truly,

Well, this is the best poem I've yet read on the subject of alcohol . . . you do a great job depicting the struggle with drinking here . . . and with this poem you make beauty from a rather less-than-beautiful situation. Nice.
