Tears and Broken hearts

Contributed by little_genna on Friday, 26th March 2004 @ 02:09:03 PM in AEST

So much anger,
So much hate,
where does it end?
Will it ever end?
Tears and broken hearts.
Is that how it’s going to end,
for me?
No matter what I do.
It’s not going to change!
Tears and broken hearts.

Ok, I decided to go to the start of your poetry that is posted on here. Had avoided it somewhat. To be honest I was almost afraid of what I would find, so Im a coward. From what I had read of some of your later poems including the ones you steered me to, wasnt sure I wanted to read some of these. Even you have admit, that for all the rhyme or creative use of words, sometimes there is alot of pain in some of your poems so that even while admiring the phrasing or use of words to paint a picture, sometimes one winces. Having done what I always do, talk to much, (could never be a poet, economy of words is a foreign concept to me), I am going to say, I am venturing into this early world of yours. So Tears and Broken Hearts. Glad your not close enough to hit, but all I could think about as I read it for the third time, was this is Country Western song if I have ever seen one. I can see Shania Twain singing this with some guy in back playing a steel hawaiian guitar. That doesnt mean I dont like it. The thing I liked most about it was the tag line. Tears and Broken Hearts. Its not only a nice turn of phrase, but its what made me think of a country song. I found imagery of pain and teenage angst, but didn't put me off. I have no wish to be insulting and I have no comprehension how painful your life was at this stage, but it seemed like the emotions and angers expressed most teens suffer from. I think your poetry gives a much clearer picture of your inner thoughts than would have been seen if you had just sat down and written it all out in an essay. Good, not great, and not as scary as I thought, may read some more. Darn, soups cold again. bob

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
