Even in Death

Contributed by Soulless on Thursday, 25th March 2004 @ 08:56:40 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Some say Im crazy, driven to insanity
They tell me Im lost
In the unforgiven past
They're all wrong

Restless nights I feel your presence
An essence I cannot mistake
I can remember your face
The one thing I could never forsake

I can see your haunting me
Its only me you want
They can't feel you touching me
And they dont hear you singing to me

I will stay forever here with you
My love
Come find me with out fear
My love
Dont let me see a single tear
For
I'll be waiting here
Tonight
And forever

Your shadow hides within these walls
I know your waiting for me
Your voice it softly calls
I can hear you singing to me

I will stay forever here with you
My love
Come find me with out fear
My love
Dont let me see a single tear
For
I'll be waiting here
Tonight
And forever

I will always love you
And I cant love you anymore than I do now

Your face follows me wherever I go
It never stops haunting me
Lost words whisper back steady and slow
These soflty spoken words you give me

I will stay forever here with you
My love
Come find me with out fear
My love
Dont let me see a single tear
For
I'll be waiting here
Tonight
And forever

My dreams lead me to where you lay
Your words whisper back in my head

Come join me here tonight
My love
I've been waiting all my life
so
Join me in the light
And stay with me
Tonight
And forever

For even in death
Our love goes on~

A few of these lines were, quite bluntly, stolen from "Even in Death" by Evanescence. Therefore, this isn't fully your work. If I'm not mistaken, this is plagiarism to some extent. The words to Evanescence's version;

"Give me a reason to believe that you're gone
I see your shadow so I know they're all wrong
Moonlight on the soft brown earth
It leads me to where you lay
They took you away from me but now I'm taking you home

I will stay forever here with you
My love
The softly spoken words you gave me
Even in death our love goes on

Some say I'm crazy for my love
My love
But no bonds can hold me from your side
My love
They don't know you can't leave me
And they can't hear you singing to me

And I can't love you anymore than I do"

Don't you think there's something wrong with your poem taking some of that?

-Eve.

all I can say is if it's stolen you are a thief....if its your own work you are one hell of a writer. Time will tell on both accounts my friend.

Dear Viewers,

I apologize deeply If I have offended anyone. This poem was not to make fun of or harm any lyrics of Evanescence. On the contrary, Evanescence is my favorite band and the reason I started this poem was under the influence of their song "Even in Death" I have posted this poem on other websites before and I always remembered to add a disclaimer of how not all was my work. Yesterday I was in a bit of a hurry and I had forgotten to add the extra note claiming as shown. I once again apologize and I assure you that the rest of my work is my own words. I hope you can forgive me and if not I understand.
Yet once again am utterly sorry.
And especially, I appologize to Evanescence for forgeting this major problem.

Love,
~Soulless~
(If anyone could tell me how to modify my poem to add the note I would apreciate it.)
Thank you for pointing that out. I feel so embarassed! :(

In response to the apology, I understand. As long as you only forgot the disclaimer, it's fine. I think you're supposed to put lyrics written by others in quotes... that way your own words can reflect off of theirs. I don't think you can modify your poem, but you could likely post it again?

Keep writing,
-Eve.

this was amazing. I couldn't tell if it was written to someone whom u love, or someone that u lost, but can't get over in any case it was awesome. It reminded me of CuttersAngel's poetry for some wierd reason.
