Beyond The Mist

Contributed by Justalady on Thursday, 25th March 2004 @ 08:50:48 PM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

Damp droplets fall on a silent, non-moving shape,
that stands alone, trying to forsake
the feeling inside that a love had died.
The droplets thought to be the tears it cried.

A window in the mist suddenly appears
a clouded vision again reveals the years
long gone and yet...bright as before.
A spirit with wings on which to soar.

Beyond the mist...beyond the years,
beyond the droplets of tiny tears,
a voice that spoke in a whispered plea,
"you stand in the mist...and wait for me?"

Shrouded in gray and damp cooling mist
warmth I'll give you...in a gentle kiss.
Now..go quickly and steadily on your way,
I'm the voice of a stranger, that you heard today.

I'm not the spirit you knew back then,
it has drifted away, not to be seen again.
Beyond this mist is where it shall forever live,
but this message...I was to give.

Step into the sunlight and forget the damp mist,
but remember the time two lovers kissed,
and shared a love, deep and profound.
The voice that you hear, is your memories sound.

Your imagery is great here. The poem is sad but gently beautiful in its composure. This is good work.

Rainbows,
Rita

After reading one of your works, I read them all.......we match step for step and tear for tear....it is hard to be left alone. Know that you are not alone in your thoughts. Thank you for sharing.
