The moths, they will not leave your sight
They flitter there, in the way, in the light
And upon their dirty wings lie disgrace and shame
And so they are caught, and burnt in the flame
Ashes fall from their broken existence
See the star-dust fall into the distance
Don't pity them, for they were nothing, and they're no longer here
(Their pain persevered, and death became all too clear)
You do not miss them, this is what you wanted from the start
But how does it feel now that you've ripped them apart?

This was so beautiful... somehow! I kept reading it over and over and I didn't get tired of it at all. There is some deep meaning behind the shadows of your symbolizm... or is there nothing there at all but burnt wings? |
