A fairy princess and a gypsy violinist
used to tell me legends about the pastel winds of change,
and my anticipations were truly infinite.
They took me into a rock so I could experience the peace
and told me to stand alone,
beyond what others said I should do.
I heard indians chanting in deep, compelling tones,
I saw forgotten travellers in moonless, black robes,
and Wizards, Elves and Angels protected me.
I was four years old at the time,
and I believed that by using the power of the light within me
I could make the very Earth itself hold it's breath.
I was born gifted at reading the clouds,
and was able to speak to animals and plants.
Before school and church and work combed and sweated that out of me.
Yet even now I exist in strange, haunted places
that weave a pattern of energy all around me,
and the seven seas I consist of are coming to light.
A mysterious spirit who visits my dreams
shows me bamboo moons and the whispering winds of change,
and a seed of cosmic truth waiting to be discovered.
Sometimes you've just got to trust in something,
and until the world is washed clean
I'll still have faith in the distant winds of change.

Yes, we all have to have faith in something and mine does not lie in life on earth following rules of humans. They have certainly proven they are not worthy of my trust. This is an insightful piece.
