Today, you left you memeories,
Cleaned out your locker and walked out the door
And even though I didn't see I know you left forevermore
I'm still trying to let go
Still trying to be strong
Still trying to find out
How to fix a wrong
Today, you left the books, all your friends and enemies
You shut the lock to 12 years of learning life's ABC's
You'll remember all your buddies and the movies you did see
But, selfishly, I'm most afraid that you won't remember me
I'm trying not to cry
I fight to hold it in
When I think of all the things
That never did begin
I said that I was done
I am but it is hard
To give up all you've hoped for
To simply clear the yard
I know you are still hiding
You're underneath your mask
And as we both move on
There's only one thing I can ask
Will you remember me
Cause I know I won't forget you
Even if you never face everything that's true
Now I'll gently wrap you up
Take you home with me
Try again to close the lock
And put away the key
Today, you left you memories,
Cleaned out your locker and walked out the door
And even though I didn't see
I know you left forevermore
Somewhere I'll find the strength
I'll do it just for me
Cause I should have left much sooner...
before my heart fell 'cause of thee

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
