The rain is always falling
The sun never shines
Got my whole life ahead of me
But the past I cannot leave behind
So many years spent building our lives
Dreams of growing old hand in hand
Peace and tranquility to be found
If only we learn to move on
Spats and fights and lies we forgive
Staying out late, forgetting important dates
Dishes not done, dinner not cooked
All this so easily shrugged off
Trust, love, and respect grow with each day
Endless time seems to be had
Forever now seems not quite long enough
To spend our lives together
All this shattered in one night
The search for oneself lead to this demise
Thought something was missing
To find it only was hidden
Should of looked harder at what was around
Instead looked somewhere else
It was in this destruction quest
That understanding was finally found
Now too late to turn back the clock
Must learn to live with the failure
The wall of trust shattered on the ground
Start all over one brick at a time
