Burning Thoughts

Eyes shut tight
As if pain has locked them
Eyes clenched
Desperate to forget
The image burning bright
Impossible to resist
Two seconds staring
And the sun will scorch the blackness
One glimpse
And her image is unshakeable
Every moment passes
Distraction is to no avail
She cannot be lost
From memory nor vision
Will her face consume me?
It pulses in my mind
With every beat of my heart
Is this love?
Or punishment for lusting
Forbidden fruit
Never to be seen again
A thousand wishes
Do not remove her image
From my burning eyes
Neither my mind
Is cleansed of desires
When will I see her again?

Hi Stuart,
I sure hope you see her again before the image fades. If it ever does that is! Mine doesn't!
There's good feeling in your words
With love
Dean :-) |
